Chichibu Distillery was founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2004, with distilling begun in February 2008. It is the home of Ichiro's Malt, a whisky held in the highest international regard. Maturation runs through a wide range of casks including Japanese mizunara oak, and Chichibu's four sharply drawn seasons shape the whisky's character. Tours run by reservation, 9:00–17:00.
